Let's be honest, life gets busy. You wear more hats than one can count and your to-do list is several pages long.  Design Mark's Design Studio is standing by to assist.  We are experts in printed graphic solutions and we can help you check this item from your pending task list.  We offer countless options, different materials, adhesives, printing processes and that can certainly feel overwhelming but you will quickly feel your stress lifting as you realize how effortless we will make this project for you.  Our in-house team of engineering-based designers will guide you to the best solution for your project.

Intuitive, Highly Disciplined Design

Our engineering team is cross-functional, enabling designs that represent the best interface between the user and their equipment.  The design and manufacturing of intricate solutions is an extremely complex endeavor that requires perpetual communication between all teams involved. Overlooked factors such as compliance needs for manufacturing failures can never be passed as trivial mistakes across any industry. They not only have the potential to halt product releases in their tracks, but also collapse company reputations overnight. A user-centric approach is always necessary during the creation process. Our team of engineers meticulously manages along each phase and intensively examines for considerations such as cost, regulatory compliance, and manufacturing ramifications.

Design involves extensive, overlapping collaboration between Design Mark and the client. It entails analyzing multiple factors while efficiently moving product development forward in the most cost-effective way possible. Design Mark is an ISO- certified, solutions-based company with decades of experience in navigating the entire design program on behalf of our clients. From concept development to prototype analysis, we advise and execute design solutions that meet the highest, most rigorous standards.

Whether an idea is presented to us as a new concept or if we are tasked with developing one on our own, Design Mark will help clients envision advancements or solve existing challenges. We can identify market needs and leverage our specialists to innovate existing concepts while keeping tabs on the latest engineering trends. Precision and functionality are critical for your custom solution and we will ensure that we exceed your expectations in these areas.

Regulatory Analysis and Classification Studies

As an ISO 9001:2015 certified organization, Design Mark is well versed in systematically bringing ideas in line with current national and international regulations. Our concepts are developed in conjunction with the latest standards, merging intuitive engineering design within the regulatory framework of the product’s market. No matter the graphic solution you need – custom industrial labels, plastic or metal nameplates, faceplates and overlays or membrane switches our Design Studio will create an attractive, sleek, up-to-date design. If some of your current products have tired, out-of-date designs, we will create attention-getting graphics that breathe new life into your brand. Additionally, we will ensure that your graphic solution meets applicable industry standards including:

  • MIL Specs
  • UL, CSA, CE and RU certification
  • US. State Department’s International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)

Establish a Design Framework in Conjunction with Compliance Needs

Every design requires working within a unique framework that has the potential to be quite complex.  In this stage, Design Mark will establish the necessary structure for which our designs are developed in accordance with FDA, ANSI, cGMP and other relevant standards/regulations.  As a manufacturer and supplier in the electronics and electronic equipment industry, Design Mark is committed to conducting business in a manner that respects, preserves, and improves the environment. The latest Directive 2011/65/EU on the Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous Substances in electrical and electronic equipment (RoHS) was issued in June 2011.  We work within industry standard manufacturing practices and use materials that have a long-standing history of known compliance to RoHS directives. Our products are designed and manufactured in accordance with the latest RoHS compliance requirements.  Design Mark will document compliance in the form of a written Certificate of Compliance.

All aspects of the design process, from concept to storage, requires a quality assurance system that studies the product’s effectiveness throughout its lifecycle.  This includes ensuring that all parties involved such as partners, suppliers and other third-party entities adhere to the device’s quality requirements.

Early Stage Design, Prototyping and Engineering Support

Let's talk about brainstorming and then we will revisit industry standards.

Early concepts require first stage prototypes that need to be supported by a highly competent, multi-disciplined engineering team.  We ensure that prototype development stays focused on user proof-of-concepts, manufacturability and cost efficiency.

Testing and retesting a design is a critical step in developing a smart, innovative product.  Rapid prototyping decreases development time by allowing corrections to be made early in the process.  By giving stakeholders in engineering, manufacturing, marketing and purchasing departments a look at the product early in the design process, enhancements can be added quickly and inexpensively, and any modifications easily implemented.

There are several advantages to Design Mark’s rapid prototyping.  It enables increased variations of product and product complexity along with decreased delivery time.  Taking  advantage of this service provides the following:

  • Significantly reduced lead times for part prototypes
  • Decreased product design/development time
  • Eliminated costly errors
  • Minimized engineering changes
  • Eliminated redundancies
  • Extended product lifetime by adding forward thinking features

We employ laser tooling and digital printing techniques.  These streamlined processes drastically reduce the lead time required to manufacture a physical prototype part.  Our prototyping service supports product development for the majority of our solution offerings.

Design Mark’s User Interface Solutions

Design Mark’s solutions are a culmination of extensive research, analysis and engineering expertise.  We have worked with clients across multiple markets to advise, design and manufacture User Interface (UI) solutions according to their exact requirements.

Our UI products are a direct result of our design methodology, resulting in custom engineered devices that meet client, regulatory and user standards.  During our design process, we have helped augment ideas into reality for both our membrane switches and graphic overlays in various applications and instrumentation, such as imaging systems and handheld devices.  Used every day by professionals nationwide, our UI solutions are the result of a highly organized product development strategy.

We apply the latest ergonomic concepts to our graphic overlays, blending aesthetic visuals with straightforward, uncomplicated control features.  User friendly designs are a core component to any UI, providing seamless interaction for users of any skill level. We help anticipate what type of functionality these users require, so that they can easily access, understand and operate their equipment efficiently.  These highly visible graphic overlays help exemplify indicators, warning lights and LED signals so that professionals and/or specialists can effortlessly view them from virtually any angle or noticeable distance.

In other projects, we have incorporated graphic overlays with advanced shielding that protects devices from electrostatic discharge, electromagnetic interference, and radio frequency signals – all of which are prevalent in technically advanced environments.

From portable devices with touchscreens to complex control panels, our UI solutions always consider materials, shape, durability, sterility and instrumentation geometry.
